Supports delivery of safe and compliant well operations, by ensuring appropriate controls are in place to mitigate HSE and operational risks.

 

Job description:

 

  • S&OR
  • Support development and implementation of the Segment Risk Action Plans in operations
  • Verify well control equipment, practices and preparedness in accordance with ETP’s (Engineering Technical Practice) and BP Well Control Manual
  • Verify conformance with BP Standards, ETP’s and regulatory compliance relevant to operations
  • Monitor the drilling contractor’s maintenance management system with particular emphasis on the maintenance of Safety Critical Equipment
  • Facilitate rig audits & tracking of actions to closure Perform investigations as required including failure of any Safety Critical Equipment and track actions to closure
  • Perform regular rig inspections to verify conformance to BP Standards
  • Support delivery of wells HSE improvement plan through participation in Tier 2 Audits
  • Ensure S&OR Conditions for deployment for Well Ops Safety Critical Roles have been satisfied & complied with
  • Ensure MoC (Management of Change) for any S&OR (Safety and Operational Risk) activities have been put in place and closed out. People
  • Mentor WTL’s(Well Team Leader) in delivery of safe and compliant operations
  • Coach WSL’s(Well Site Leader) in development of Excellence Programme base line assessments and gap closure plans
  • Provide support on Technical Interviewing of WTL’s and WSL’s and obtaining S&OR Agreement
  • Manage deployment of AGT Well Site Leaders with respect to business requirements, nationalization program and BP staff development needs. Business Delivery
  • Provide operational support to WTL as required in particular leave and weekend duty cover
  • Manage onshore operations support team to: o Support the implementation of OMS (Operating Management System) in operations. o Support development of Detailed Operations Plan. o Support performance improvement processes including standardization and simplification between ACG(Azeri Chirag Guneshli) and SD(Shah Deniz) / MODU (Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit) Teams
  • Participate in Operational Risk Assessment and Planning process. Investigate significant NPT(Non Productive Time) events to establish root causes and corrective actions
  • Perform special projects as required in support of Well Operations delivery.

 

Requirements:


  • Degree in engineering or related Oilfield discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in DC&I (Drilling, Completions and Interventions)operations, with at least 10 years experience in managing DC&I operations
  • Demonstrable HSSE(Health, Safety, Security, & Environment) leadership
  • Demonstrable experience in managing core contractors and third parties
  • Well Control Certification (IADC, IWCF, etc.)
  • Worked with major oil company
  • Demonstrable capabilities of leading, developing, training and coaching less experienced drilling personnel
  • Demonstrable leadership of safety programs for drilling operations and participate fully in developing HSE culture
  • Proven track record as strong team player
  • Flexible approach to work and clear time management skills
  • Aptitude to innovate and be open to new ideas, networking and global technical knowledge sharing
  • Offshore operational drilling experience on MODU’s, Platform and Jack Up rigs, HTHP (High Pressure and High Temperature) wells, rig based workover operations and coiled tubing drilling
  • ERD experience (offshore preferred)
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and morning reporting/database systems (i.e. OpenWells).
