Job Description: 

  • Be responsible for vessel navigation during the work phases, for calibration and geodesy setup at mobilisation phase;
  • Be responsible for dimensional controls at yards and offshore, at platform and at emerged structures;
  • Be responsible for all survey activities associated with project including the scope of work, which shall be reviewed and approved according to applicable QA procedures. This also includes, but not limited to, documentation such as Specifications, Procedures, Calculations;
  • Implement Project procedures and Company Work Instructions;
  • Facilitate the installation, calibration and operation of survey, navigation and peripheral devices which may include, but not limited to: GPS receivers, Differential correction receivers, Navigation computer systems (preferably EIVA software), PC peripherals including printers, logging devices, remote monitors, data links, Echo-sounder systems (MBES, SBES), Gyrocompasses, vessel and ROV mounted, Motion reference systems, vessel and ROV mounted, Cross profiler systems, DHSS or MBES, ROV mounted, Pipetracker systems, ROV mounted, Acoustic positioning systems e.g. LBL/USBL, including the Wideband Sonardyne technology, Doppler Logs (ROV mounted);
  • Confirm the correct entry of geodetic data and background structure data in the online and offline survey systems;
  • Measure, record and implement all vessel, structure and ROV offsets;
  • Conduct observations of seawater parameters in order to determine the speed of sound in seawater, and apply resulting speed of sound values in USBL and LBL systems;
  • Ensure the maintenance of clear and accurate online survey logs and records ensuring clear and accurate annotation of data;
  • Ensure that raw and processed survey data is stored in a logical and safe manner on the Reports PC and backed up to DVD or external hard drive at regular intervals;
  • Produce line plans to ensure adequacy of coverage, based either on intended route centerlines, multiple survey lines or existing pipeline databases;
  • Produce survey element of daily reports to Project Managers and Clients;
  • Represent the Company at Client project meetings both offshore and onshore;
  • Execute land surveys using Total Station and Global Positioning Systems (GPS);
  • Perform metrology operations in liaison with the Survey Engineer;
  • Act as the survey team leader as required in the absence of the Party Chief;
  • Interface with project team and engineering personnel in order to guarantee all design work is carried out;
  • Liaise with customer survey representatives and suppliers;
  • Conduct all activities within the Integrated Management System Policies and Procedures;
  • Responsible for the preparation and quality control of survey engineering procedures, work instructions and check lists relating to system operations and maintenance;
  • Revise technical bid evaluation for Vendors tendering.


Requirements:

  • Higher education in topography, marine geography and geodesy;
  • Experience in naval hydrography is an advantage;
  • Azerbaijani (fluent), English (fluent).
  • Knowledge of Geodesy, Hydrography and Marine Ecosystem;
  • Knowledge of techniques with Total Station and GPS RTK;
  • Proficiency in standard software for PC such as MS Office;
  • Preference will be given to smart, young candidates with high potential and talent, self-motivation specialised in Hydrography and Geodesy.
