Job Description:

  • The Chief Officer is the personal deputy for the master.
  • Should be master of any reason be unfit to continue his duties the chief Officer are to take over responsibility for the vessel.
  • The chief officer is the head of the deck department and is as such responsible to supervise and encourage all subordinates.
  • Stability calculations are to be made prior vessels departure - at Masters discretion.
  • The calculations shall be presented to the Master.
  • The chief officer shall be in charge of the loading and unloading of cargo.
  • He is responsible to ensure that all equipment loaded during mobilization have certificates in accordance with requirements
  • If not, Master and/or client representative shall be notified.
  • Prior to departure the chief officer shall verify that all cargo are sufficient lashed and make a notation of it in the logbook.
  • Maintain certificates for all lifting gears, cranes and appliances belonging to the vessel.
  • Maintain and update the files: "Register of lifting gears and certificates" and the IMO required book "Register of cargo lifting gear and appliances"
  • The Chief Officer is responsible for that the ships hospital at all time are in a hygienic conditioned clean, tidy and ready for use.
  • The Chief Officer is responsible for the ships medical locker.
  • The Chief Officer is responsible to order replacements for medicine used or expired on date.
  • The chief officer shall verify that all lifesaving and fire fighting equipment is maintained according to the relevant rules and regulations.
  • The Chief Officer is responsible for the deck maintenance on board according to maintenance program.
  • The Chief Officer is responsible for thte deck and paint sores and the ordering of accessories to the same in accordance with the "suppliers list".


Requirements:

  • Experience from Subsea operations in international operations.
  • SDPO certification from Nautical institute.
  • Experience from DP2 following ROV’s
  • Preferable experience from crane operations (100 tons)
  • Azeri Citizen/ Unlimited Master license(D1)
