Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Award Bidding & Estimating:Comprehensively define Employer’s requirements.
  • Schedule in P6 project estimates relating to Resources, Time and Cost
  • Acquire thorough knowledge of plans, specifications and Employer quotations.
  • Coordinate with Contractors, Consultants and Construction personnel regarding construction practices, sequencing, techniques, strategies, and procedures.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of schedules.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy meetings, and post construction meetings as required.
  • Determine the requirement for, appoint, scope, direct and manage Schedulers, Cost Control Engineers and Control Assistants as necessary to maintain adequate cover over all Department Projects.
  • Report on the status of the project as accurately as possible with emphasis on constraints and the anticipated resources, time and cost to complete.
  • Assure that all required administrative and field paperwork is completed weekly.
  • Ensure the Manager – Project Controls Division and the Department Director are aware and have the needed information on any problems that may be of corporate interest.
  • Track awarded contracts as required.
  • Prepare the project schedule and receive approval from the Manager – Project Controls Division and the Department Director prior to the start of the project to ensure that both the field personnel and office staff are working together toward the same common goal.
  • Responsible for reporting monthly job resources, time and cost projections.
  • Monitor the job progress for compliance with the contract, the project plan and schedule.
  • Evaluate performance of Employer, Consultants Contractors and Subcontractors/Suppliers.
  • Schedule and attend preconstruction, weekly project meetings and post construction meetings.Retain project records.Define residual balances

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree  from any Engineering or Construction Management discipline preferred
  • 4 - 6 years’ experience on relevant positionProficiency with Primavera P6 software
  • Cost loading and resource loading
  • Effective communication with project teams and subcontractors
  • Efficient time management to meet deadlines while providing project support
  • Analyze and report accurate project schedule information.
