Job Description:

  • Develop IMS documentation such as process charts, procedures, work methods, check sheets and certification documents.
  • Carry out quality checks on IMS documentations to ensure they meet company documentation standards.
  • Support the development of project or customer specific Quality Plans (QP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Assist in the preparation of Quality Inspection reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of periodic quality performance reports.
  • Maintain all quality related documentation and records that are under the custody of the QHSE department.
  • Maintain the quality document control system.
  • Prepare audit plans for ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and OPITO requirements
  • Carry out internal audits against ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, OPITO and/or project QA requirements.
  • Support the audit team during external audits.
  • Support quality inspections at various stages to ensure compliance with approved specifications and plans.
  • Inspect equipment and measuring devices at worksites to ensure they are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Support the final quality inspection of project work scope and validate documentation pack is complete before completion and handover to customer.
  • Raise non-conformance reports as a result of audits and/or inspections and expedite the implementation of corrective and preventive action.
  • Assist divisions in identifying corrective and preventative actions when looking at continual improvements.
  • Engage in system & process improvements and be actively involved in quality related initiatives
  • Identify, conduct and document investigations on non-conformances.
  • Carry out quality or safety critical non-conformance investigations as part of a designated team.
  • Monitor and maintain quality performance indicators and trends on project and company performance.
  • Inspect and monitor subcontractor procedures, performance activities to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Monitor, document, investigate and progress customer complaints.
  • Support project leadership in complying company integrated management system
  • Assist in the promotion of quality awareness and requirements by delivering trainings.
  • Deliver quality inductions for new employees covering the management system and other quality requirements.
  • Coach, mentor and provide guidance to company personnel in the quality requirements of the company, and project.
  • Educate and police the workforce in the correct quality procedures and work practices.
  • Advise Managers or Superintendents of any quality concerns
  • Liaise with customer’s representatives and certifying authorities
  • Understanding and being familiar with the QA Policy and HSE Policies
  • Complying with the requirements of the company or client QA and HSE Management System, policies, standards and procedures, not taking shortcuts
  • Planning all jobs with safety as a priority
  • Fully participating in the risk assessment process and complying with all relevant control measures
  • Ensuring that they understand and implement the requirements of all Procedures, Working Instructions and Workplace Precautions that are relevant to their job
  • Challenging unsafe acts and conditions which could affect personal safety or well being
  • Intervening and not tolerating unsafe acts by others regardless of status
  • Reporting any accident, incident, near miss or any unsafe condition promptly to their line manager
  • Ensuring they keep aware of the actions required in the event of an emergency and knowing the emergency routes and equipment
  • Keeping their respective work sites clean and tidy
  • Attending and participating in HSEQ Meetings and Training sessions
  • Adherence to the procedures as laid down by the Human Resource Management System and to take an active part in the Performance Management Process and the Competence / Training Programme.

  • To put forward suggestions for improvements and carry through agreed actions.

Requirements :

  • ISO 9001 internal audit certificate (IRCA Approved) or acceptable alternative.
  • Bachelor degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Level 3 CQI Certificate in Quality Management
  • Member of American Society for Quality (ASQ) or Charted Quality Institute (CQI) Experience Required:
    3 years of demonstrable experience of working in a QA department and/or Quality Surveillance capacity
  • Experience with process and system auditing
  • Experience in preparing process maps and procedures
  • Experience in carrying out external audits (2nd party)
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Good PC skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project).
  • Numerical / Maths skills with the ability to carry out statistical analysis.
  • Able to develop flowcharted procedures.
  • Able to learn and manage own development on an on-going basis
  • Ability to apply industry and quality standards in relation to all duties undertaken.
  • Be self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA and control plans
  • Ability to carry out root cause analysis and failure investigations.
