Job Description
  • Responsibility over RREP / NPT (Rig Repair / Non Productive Time) directly attributed to Electronics and Instrumentation maintenance and repair failures / activities;
  • Assistance with SAP PM data input for respective areas of responsibility including delivery of offshore maintenance team efficiency / productivity;
  • Delivery of Offshore Maintenance, reports, data collation, record keeping as defined by the Global Technical Integrity Management System (GTIMS)
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Global Technical Integrity Management System (GTIMS);
  • Responsible for the provision of all Electronics & Instrumentation maintenance, repair & overhaul as dictated by SAP PM & GTIMS – also support for rig maintenance personnel throughout Company's operations;
  • Implement, input, control, review and maintain the reliability of all equipment under sphere of responsibility to a standard apposite for the management of maintenance in line with Company's Global Standards, Client Integrity management, API and in country interface documentation – relative to Electronics and Instrumentation issues;
  • Assist with the supervision of equipment repair and procurement both on and offshore and ensure that it is completed in a timely manner;
  • Liaise with Drilling Operations (onshore and offshore) and designated Rig Manager to ensure Electronics and instrumentation activities are planned and coordinated effectively;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relative material goods and equipment are correct and fit for purpose;
  • Assist as required with any shutdown or planned stoppage, develop plans and engage with relevant personnel. Including both Shut down and Maintenance work scopes;
  • Assist with the onshore and offshore maintenance teams’ engagement in lateral learning and lessons learned bulletins;
  • Assist with the control and implementation of start-up documentation transfer between Ops and Maintenance;
  • Stand in for alternative work discipline as required;
  • Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.
  • Familiarize themselves with the Company's Safety Policy and to take reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themselves and other persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions as required under the Health and Safety at Work Act;
  • Actively promote safety culture in discussions with offshore maintenance personnel and during visits to operations locations;
  • Secure oneself and colleagues during the work process;
  • Attend company’s training courses and meetings related to safety, firefighting and evacuation;
  • Comply with the safety procedures implemented by the company;
  • Attend safety inductions and to be aware of the planned drills and relevant works;
  • Take immediate actions or report to direct supervisor on any actual or potential danger to health, safety or equipment on site;
  • Comply with ecological standards implemented in the company;
  • Comply with the rules on wastes segregation based on Wastes Management Procedure;
  • Be aware of ecological aspects related with the work activities and to implement control measures.


  • Have extended knowledge of Electronics Engineering, with suitable hands on experience – minimum of 3 to 5 years in a standalone position;
  • Experience using CMMS (computerized Maintenance Management Systems) e.g. - SAP or Maximo;
  • Understand and be aware of offshore well control requirements and equipment;
  • Good knowledge of CompEX and hazardous areas (Competency in Ex atmospheres);
  • Computer literate;
  • Siemens Step 7;
  • MS Access and databases;
  • AutoCAD;
  • Electronic Engineering and computing systems;
  • Preferably able to speak English;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Graduate education in relative field of electronics.
