PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Project Execution Under the direction of the Project Manager, leads the technical design and implementation of any modifications required on the BP Azerbaijan Assets · Communicates and leads the implementation of engineering and Project Management Office processes · Ensures quality assurance standards and project management protocols are followed · Actively contributes to pre-FEED and study activities as well as approves all FEED and EXECUTE designs and specifications · Provides technical leadership to project team to produce detail design deliverables including system architecture, specifications and bill of materials · Leads project team in the development, final preparation and evaluation of supplier bid packages, as well as the approval or rejection of bid packages · Leads project team in the development and execution of procedures for factory acceptance testing · Leads site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup activities and obtains customer sign-off after acceptance testing activities · Leads construction management activities in accordance with standards and best practices
Identifies construction management process weaknesses that require review and direction · Approves as-built drawings and documents in accordance with best practices · Manages project service and material components to meet budget expectations · Monitors and reports task progress. Takes action to adjust the activities on the task to meet project expectations in regards to schedule, budget, and/or scope · Schedules and monitors all activities to ensure project expectations are achieved 2. Technical Leadership · Maintains advanced-level knowledge of the technology · Provides guidance to staff on the technology · Performs work according to broad objectives, having wide authority within area of responsibility with virtually no technical guidance, but subject to general administrative controls · Provides leadership and support to project technical team and ensures that the work is completed in alignment with the project requirements · Makes responsible decisions that are not usually subject to technical review by other senior staff · Monitors work to ensure best practices are followed · Provides leadership in innovation by tracking and reporting new initiatives and monitors the impact of innovations on projects · Identifies gaps in future required technical capabilities within the organization and directs the development or arrangement of training courses and programs in alignment with organization objectives · Leads the development and review of training material and courses based on documented guidelines and facilitates and coordinates training resources. Is responsible for the qualification of technical suppliers by ensuring that the suppliers operate in alignment with the terms and conditions of the contract · Makes technical evaluations, approvals, and responsible decisions. Some decisions may involve the modification of established guidelines or the approval of new approaches
