Multimodal Transportation Manager Responsibilities:
Design and implement transportation plans that optimize cost, efficiency, and reliability across different modes of transportation. This includes determining the most appropriate modes of transportation for different types of cargo and routes.
Oversee the transportation of goods from origin to destination, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with customer requirements. This involves coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Monitor and optimize transportation networks to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This includes analyzing transportation data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
Stay up-to-date with transportation regulations and ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards. This includes obtaining necessary permits, licenses, and certifications, as well as conducting regular audits and inspections.
Monitor and report on transportation performance: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure transportation performance. Generate regular reports on transportation metrics, such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and customer satisfaction, and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and manage transportation budgets, including forecasting and tracking transportation costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize transportation spending.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehousing, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of transportation activities. Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other external partners.
Keep abreast of developments in the transportation industry, including new technologies, regulations, and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities to improve transportation processes and leverage emerging trends.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, or a related field
Proven experience in transportation management or a similar role
Familiarity with different transportation modes
Knowledge of international logistics and customs regulations
Certification in transportation management or supply chain management is a plus
Proficiency in using transportation management systems, such as TMS software
Familiarity with relevant transportation regulations, such as DOT regulations in the United States

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
