Qualifications: - 4 years of total project/consulting/regulating/related experience in the environmental & social fields. - 2 years of project (site) based experience in a similar role. - Experience and demonstrable ability to lead & manage staff. - Experience and demonstrable ability to report to senior management. - Experience or demonstrable ability to engage with project stakeholders (e.g. communities and others) - Ability to communicate effectively in English (as a minimum) and desirably Azerbaijani. - In depth knowledge of Equator Principles, EBRO and IFC Performance Standards and requirements - Experience of site-based E&S inspection. - Ability to interpret the outcomes of E&S monitoring programmes. - Experience of auditing and audit reporting, either internally as part of ESMS, EMS (e.g. ISOl4001 ) or other related criteria. - Experience or demonstrable ability in E&S incident investigation, root cause analysis, associated reporting and implementation & follow up of corrective actions. - Experience or demonstrable ability to respond to E&S non- compliances and to review and approve corrective action plans. - Experience or demonstrable ability to prepare and respond accordingly regarding E&S emergency preparedness and response plans.

Job Description: The E&S Manager will be based at site to ensure implementation of the E&S requirements in line with the Project's ESIA and the environmental and social (E&S) Management Plans developed for the Project. Also, to provide oversight of EPC/O&M E&S performance at project sites and report to Corporate E&S manager of ACWA. Responsibilities will include the following: - Develop project ESMS in line with ESIA Reports, E&S package and ESAP. - Coordinate with Biodiversity Manager on implementation of biodiversity management plans. - Maintain, renew and ensure validity of project regulatory E&S permits: - Develop the E&S Policy objectives, finalise the E&S Policy and ensure sign off by the PC CEO: - Fully support and uphold the implementation of the 'E&S Policy' by all project parties, including contractors and key suppliers: - Follow-up, receive, review and internally approve (with sign off by the CEO) ESMS related documents submitted by the EPC Contractor I O&M Company as stated herein - Use walkovers, inspection/audit mechanisms to monitor the EPC Contractor I O&M Company implementation of their ESMS in line with the E&S Policy and this E&S Implementation Manual. - Review E&S records/documents gathered/prepared by the EPC Contractor I O&M Company. - Advise management on matters pertaining to the environmental and/or social elements; Liaise with regulators and/or other authorities on environmental & social matters; - Be responsible for communications regarding environmental and social reporting and any third-party audits (e.g. periodic monitoring as required by the projects lenders); - Stop any unsafe activity which is not compliant with environmental legislation or lender requirements, and correct such work practice and/or conditions before allowing work to resume/commence; - Oversee and ensure implementation of the Supply Chain Management Plan on a continuous basis and as defined in plan. - Oversee investigations of environmental and social issues, incidents and non-conformances, corrective actions being undertaken by the EPC Contractor/O&M Company. As applicable, report those to the management/relevant authorities;
- Manage the external (third-party) grievance mechanism, and address inquiries, complaints and other communications received via this mechanism.
