SCADA Operator
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor all WTGs (Wind Turbine Generators), Substation SCADA, and PPC (Power Plant Controller), including Forecast and IDF Dashboard status via SCADA system.
  • Supervise CCTV feeds to ensure plant security and detect any abnormal events.
  • Monitor any turbine or plant stoppages, delays, or downtime and record them accurately in the SCADA log.
  • Verify Forecast data for accurate logging and reporting.
  • Follow instructions from the Site Manager / Operations Manager regarding plant operations.
  • Carry out hourly, daily, and weekly production monitoring according to Power Purchase Agreements.
  • Operate the plant through SCADA, supervising control and protection devices after training and certification.
  • Monitor all equipment and sensors; report abnormal behavior immediately.
  • Execute checklists to verify the operational status of the plant.
  • Report any SCADA or communication deficiencies.
  • Follow Grid Operator instructions and maintain efficient day-to-day communication.
  • Prepare Daily Production Report (DPR) and Daily Generation Report (DGR).
  • Compile Weekly Generation Report summarizing plant performance and key operational indicators.
  • Generate 6-hourly, daily, and weekly forecast reports and submit to the Grid Dispatch Center in the required format.
  • Maintain updated logs of alarms, incidents, and SCADA system observations.
  • Assist in preparing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as instructed.
  • Support plant management in operational analysis by providing verified SCADA data when required.
  • Maintain and update the SCADA shift log with all key events, alarms, and operational notes.
  • Handover shift to the next operator, ensuring all relevant information and pending tasks are communicated clearly.
  • Record breakdowns, stoppages, or abnormal situations and notify plant managers.
  • Check forecast vs actual generation data and flag discrepancies for further review.
  • Ensure IDF files and operational data are accurate and consistent for record keeping.
  • Maintain accurate logs of energy and power production.
  • Liaise with the Site Manager / Operations Manager to improve generation and implement safe operation practices.
  • Provide support to colleagues in operational tasks when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operational, HSE, and cybersecurity procedures.
  • Monitor SCADA access logs and maintain secure operation practices.
  • Immediately report abnormal or unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure all control actions are performed safely and according to procedures.
  • Record and report incidents and near-miss events when required.
  • Receive and notify emergency calls on the emergency line as per procedures.
  • Comply with the change management process in the plant following NOMAC procedures.
  • Monitor the performance of direct and indirect reports, defining workforce requirements and recruiting, in conjunction with the People & Culture function, to ensure competent, meet position’s objectives.
  • Learning processes as per corporate training programmes. It shall include, but not limited to, On the Job Training 
  • To ensure Lessons Learned database is updated in regards to his/ her scope and promote knowledge sharing amongst different team members.

Requirements:
Qualifications/Experience Required:

University Degree in an Engineering discipline.
·         Experience with SCADA remote monitoring and control of Wind Turbines
·         2-3 years minimum experience as a team members, preferably as technical competence of SCADA control & monitoring services, or of QA/QC O&M teams
·         University Degree in an Engineering discipline.
·         Minimum 2-3 years’ years in the field of O&M in the related field (SCADA remote monitoring and control is an asset)
·         High level MS Office and MRP program end user experience.
·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, drawings, single line diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
·         Ability to produce clear and concise technical documents in English language.
·         Good work organizational skills, with multitasking capabilities to deal with different jobs in parallel.
·         Good reporting and paperwork handling capabilities
